I’m talking about when you pull up a folder and view your files as thumbnails instead of list, icons..etc. in WINDOWS XP. Does CS3 version still not have the thumbnail previews for Window?

I know that the versions before CS or whatever had the previews but I’m not sure if CS3 has them.

For some reason, embedded thumbnails were disabled in Photosohop CS and above

Most suggest that this was because the dll files used would lock up and cause explorer crashes while trying to render previews. But some say that this is Adobe’s plan to get people to use Bridge. Alex Walker belongs to the latter and in his article on SitePoint points shows a registry hack that can re-enable the previews.

FU*K With The Registry At Your Own Risk

Simpler Methods to enable thumbnail previews exist, that don’t involve meddling with the registry.

The freeware app ThumbView enables thumbnail previews for files not natively supported by Windows Explorer.
